Sultanahmet Historic Peninsula Walk

Istanbul, Turkey · Istanbul walking route

The Historic Peninsula is an open-air museum on the UNESCO World Heritage list, where Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman layers sit on top of each other. This route strings the monuments around Sultanahmet Square together in a sensible order: the two great sanctuaries of the square, the underground cistern, the green of Gülhane Park and Topkapı Palace, and finally the labyrinth of the Grand Bazaar.
