Gothic Quarter & La Rambla
Barcelona's oldest core is the Gothic Quarter, still tracing its Roman walls, and this route ties it to the city's most famous street. It starts on the plane-tree promenade of La Rambla, dives into the colourful stalls of the Boqueria, then turns to the cathedral square and the medieval courtyard of Plaça del Rei, ending at the Columbus Monument by the sea. Getting lost in the lanes is a feature of this walk, not a bug.
