Ancient to Baroque: Colosseum to Piazza Navona

Rome, Italy · Rome walking route

The layers of history in Rome are so dense that this 4-kilometre route becomes an unbroken journey from the ancient empire to the height of the Baroque. It starts at the gladiators' arena, follows the Forum that governed an empire, joins the coin-throwing ritual at the Trevi Fountain, stands beneath the two-thousand-year-old dome of the Pantheon and ends among Bernini's fountains in Piazza Navona.
